A NIOSH Case Study Review

Reviewing the Past to Protect Our Future

This new page will be a feature for those of you that have asked for some more interactive and in depth training programs.

We will attempt to randomly take some case studies and talk about these incidents with the sole intent to help others learn and to truly prevent any similar occurrences that could cause death or serious injury to others.

When we review a case history we need to clearly remember the following:

This situation bears distinct similarities to other incidents that have claimed the lives of, or injured firefighters in the past. The lessons that must be derived from this incident are not a condemnation of the actions or judgment of anyone involved in this situation; they simply identify information that can help to prevent this type of accident from occurring in the future.

For this first session we would ask that you use the following link, and read the NIOSH review listed. Maybe you might even want to print it out and distribute it to the troops for use as a training point.
