- There isn't
enough time......
-
- They say
that time heals all wounds, and I suppose that is true.
But even after all of the horrific events that have taken
place, I still have memories that keep coming to the
forefront.
-
- Sure they
will go away, but for now they are never far away.
-
- Each year we
continue to lose 100 firefighters in the USA. Each of
those men and women have families. Those families touch
other families, and hundreds if not thousands of people
are affected by these losses.
-
- Sure it will
get better with time, but I sense that there is not
enough time...time for all of us to get rid of the tragic
memories and losses.
-
- We will
overcome these deaths and some strong brave people will
try to make changes in our operations and take a beating
try to change the "traditions", but it will
happen.
-
- We can all
lean on one another for support during these times of
loss. We will be there to support the families of those
lost...but in some way the memory will still be there.
-
- So with that
I ask you this week, to remember a couple of years ago
when
- on December
3, 1999 six Worcester firefighters lost their lives
battling a warehouse fire.
-
- On December
3, 2001 at about 6:15PM remember those six men who lost
their lives.
- Say a
prayer, have a silent moment, just please remember.
-
- Sure, 6
pales in comparison to the 343 we have just lost in NY,
but to their families and extended families the wounds
are still fresh.
-
- If you know
a Worcester firefighter, let them know you have not
forgotten. Not to bring up old memories, but out of
respect and let them know you meant it when you said you
will "never forget".
-
- I know I
will mention it when I see one of them, I dedicate the
commentary this week to their memory.
-
- I have not
forgotten.....there isn't enough time.
